About Us
Hello, I’m Steven Martin, founder, and CEO of RepairChecker, Inc. For more than 30 years, I have worked as an automotive technician in independently owned shops and dealerships, taking care of customer’s cars and diagnosing unique and challenging auto problems. After many years of putting in the long hours of providing quality mechanic expertise, I began to feel it was time for a change. While I liked interacting with the customers, I grew tired of constantly worrying about the numbers or how many hours I had to turn each week. That is the problem. Most technicians make money by getting jobs done as quickly as possible. They have to rush through each new project, which lowers the repair quality while also promoting dishonest behavior that I do not think is right.
I began to look around into warranty inspection jobs as a possible future career but quickly noticed that those jobs were designed for the manufacturer and not for the consumer. Then, it occurred to me that if warranty companies could have someone double-check their repairs, why couldn’t people get the same peace of mind every day?
So, together with a team of other experienced technicians, we created RepairChecker. We wanted to offer consumers a way to verify the cost of their car repairs by talking with other qualified experts like myself to verify what they are getting is worth the price tag.
At the end of the day, it is all about quality. I always sought to offer my clients the most honest, transparent, and upfront service possible. While some in the industry may find that difficult, we at RepairChecker believe it is the only way to avoid overcharging you, the client.
I hope you browse through our website and reach out with any questions or orders. If I have learned anything over the past few decades as a service technician, customers appreciate having their questions answered clearly and professionally so they can make a confident decision about what to do next.
Thank you!

If you have a written estimate you can take a clear picture of it. Some smartphones can convert images to pdf, either way as long as we can read it we can use it. Instructions on where to send it will be given during checkout.
If you ordered a Repair and Estimate Check we can ask for a copy from the repair facility when we contact them. This may delay the process slightly though. If you ordered the Estimate Check without an actual estimate to send us we will contact you to go over the recommended repairs to provide you the best report possible without it.
When multiple repairs require the same parts to be removed to complete. For example, if you replace a front hub bearing and perform a front brake job you have to remove the brakes and rotor to replace the bearing. The labor should be adjusted accordingly.
